Windows 7 is the new version of Windows operating system released by Microsoft. Windows 7 comes in DVD or ISO file format. Asus eee pc netbooks dont have DVD drives. You need to create bootable USB drive and move windows 7 installation files to usb. Then you can install windows 7 from usb. You can do it simply using 2 cool free tools (LCISOCreator, Windows 7 USB DVD download tools)
This includes 2 steps.
1. Create Windows 7 Installation ISO file.
2. Write ISO file to USB using Windows 7 USB DVD download tool.
Step 1.
If you have Windows 7 installation ISO file then skip this step and move to Step 2. If you have windows 7 DVD, create ISO file from that DVD. LCISOCreator is a freeware portable application helps to create ISO from DVD.

Download LCISOCreator and open the application. Insert windows 7 DVD into DVD drive. Select drive letter in LCISOCreator and click 'Create ISO'. Now Windows 7 installation ISO is ready.
Step 2.
To write the windows 7 iso to USB, you need Windows 7 USB DVD Download tool. Download this application from here. Its from Microsoft.
Select the Windows 7 Installation ISO (which was created previously using LCISOcreator) in 'Source file' and click next.

In next windows click 'USB Device' media type

Choose USB drive letter and click 'Begin Copying'

Now bootable windows 7 installation USB is ready. Reboot your Asus Eee PC and press F2 key to enter BIOS setup. Set 1st Boot Device as USB Pen Drive. Press F10 to save settings and reboot. It should boot from the USB drive now.

And Windows 7 installation begins. Follow the onscreen instructions and install windows 7.

Tested with Asus eee pc 900ha and it works without problems. You can also install windows vista on eeepc by following the above steps.
