Most of the linux distributions comes as live CD. Need to download them ,write to CD to run them. Some easy steps will give you option to rum them from USB drive.Google introduced Android OS for mobile devices. You can try this Os on Laptop or PC. Live CD version of Android also available. Version 0.3 can be downloaded from here. There are two files named liveandroidv0.3.iso.001 , liveandroidv0.3.iso.002 . Download and join them.
In windows you need HJ-Split freeware to join the files. Dowload HJ-Split and open that.
In the input file field select the first part of the downloaded android ISO file (liveandroidv0.3.iso.001) . Final combined output will be liveandroidv0.3.iso .Now we need to write this ISO to USB. To setup bootable installation download freeware UNetbootin from here. You can use this tool to write other linux distributions like Ubuntu (and official derivatives), Debian, Linux Mint, openSUSE, Arch Linux, Damn Small Linux, SliTaz, Puppy Linux, gNewSense, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Fedora, PCLinuxOS, Sabayon Linux, Gentoo, MEPIS, Zenwalk, Slax, Dreamlinux, Elive, CentOS, Mandriva, FaunOS, Frugalware Linux, xPUD to USB .

In UNetbootin ,select second option 'Diskimage' and choose the liveandroid's ISO file. Then choose your USB Drive letter then OK.

Thats all and wait for few minutes. The files will be write in to USB. Then reboot the PC. During reboot in BIOS setup choose 'Boot from USB Drive" Option. Now PC boot from and test Google Android.
You can follow the above steps to make Ubuntu Live USB too.
